System Engineer
• Contributes to cobasⓇ liatⓇ system development milestones through feasibility analysis and verification campaigns of new and existing diagnostic PCR assay scripts• Performs feasibility studies in a laboratory setting on assay scripts by challenging consumable specifications, script design, and system hardware with various guard band conditions in order to assess system performance• Consolidates and analyzes cobasⓇ liatⓇ assay run data using JMP software to generate graphs, data tables, and variability charts in order to characterize system performance trends, bottlenecks and associated root causes• Presents data and writes reports on study findings for scrum-based team meetings and formal technical reviews in order to drive discussion on potential action items to iteratively improve the assay script design• Debugs and executes verification test cases for new cobasⓇ liatⓇ assay scripts to meet the Design Input milestone and generate documentation in preparation for FDA and EMEA approval processes• Investigates root causes of system failures captured across cobasⓇ liatⓇ development teams in order to document defects and inform decisions on system improvement throughout the product life cycle• Collaborates with scientists and engineers working in assay development, core software, and consumable manufacturing optimization in order to form holistic assessments of system performance metrics
