Denison, Iowa

I headed the launch of a FTTP launch for the technical side of the operation including the installs and surveys. I worked with customers to help them understand their bills plus setup the install for them with our services over the competition. We went from no customers to 100 customers in less than 6 months while maintaining our copper plant in another town with just 2.5 techs.

Walnut, Iowa

During my time at Walnut we successfully launched several new areas of service. First we launched a high speed cable modem service to our cable only towns, then right after that brought out ISP service in-house for email and web pages reducing our cost by 90% and a payback in 5 months. Later we launched a voice over cable in 1 of our towns soon the other 2 towns were to follow. I also worked with upper management to secure a new client of a city run ISP/Voice which gave us a new revenue stream and access to their new Digital cable TV system to improve our services to all 7 of our existing towns. Lastly we launched our FTTH service in a new service area accessing new clients and new areas of business.

Harlan, Iowa

During my time at SCCI/HTS this company grew from a southwest Iowa company to a midwest company spanning from Oklahoma to Iowa and 1 location to 6 locations. I was in charge of deploying VOIP phone systems for customers plus all our own locations. Supporting our ITC customers and deploying ISP services internally for several telephone companies through out Iowa.

I started out taking care of the dialup modems for the new internet area at INS on top of my normal duties for INS. AS time went on my duties grew to being the first and only WAN tech that dealt with the 120+ ITC's in Iowa. I was responsible for Sales, Purchasing, Installation and support for these customers. This area grew from nothing but 12 modems to over 600+ modems in our central office alone not counting the modems in the field at ITC's and just a handful of dedicated connections to over 60 Dedicated. Our incoming connection went from a 56k to a 2 DS3's and a full BGP routing table during my as the only WAN tech.

As part of my service while I was stationed at Fort Richardson Alaska I was tasked to help the USAISC with the repair of PC's as they were having to fly people from Seattle to the 3 locations to repair these units. Myself and another soldier were tasked to educate other units on software such as Lotus 1-2-3, Dbase 3+, MS-DOS, and Multimate so in our spare time we taught classes on these subjects. We were also responsible for the networking of the terminals around the forts and the connections between them. After leaving Alaska I was stationed at Walter Reed Hospital where I over saw backups of the mainframes for the various systems and ran reports.
