Leader of the Powertrain Development Controls Team, Technical CenterSince inception, this critical team has been active in working New Technology Introduction in controls development effectiveness and efficiency improvements, ECM tool enhancements, and developing training classes for the product development machine controls arena. • Produced a comprehensive transmission controls training curriculum with over 50 controls classes as well as dozen more supporting training on shift controls, adaptive controls, and ECM tools. Over 500 employees have participated in these classes.• Created new calibration standard test procedure guides for use across the company to detail and standardize work efforts. • Developed new data collection and post-processing scripting tools such as the expansive Powershift Transmission Analysis script, open ECM architecture controls scripts, and other post-processing tools. • Worked to get unilateral approval and support for constructing and conducting a transmission clutch stand research project with $300K exempt research funding. The outcome of this hardware project could lead up to a 50% improvement in software development costs.• Assisted or led numerous corporate projects to enhance controls, improve effectiveness, efficiency, and increase customer value in our machine solutions.• In 2015, I completed the Caterpillar Leadership Excellence in Accountability and Development (LEAD) certificate program. • Managed and integrated high-speed ATI Vision and other ECM and analog acquisition tools into the transmission controls development process. Besides being very effective tools for ECM access and data verification, the high speed and bandwidth they afforded were critical in the adoption of highly complex controls software algorithms. The project was started on my own volition and was in addition to my normal job role tasks. This successful project required interfacing with engineering teams across the company and with several suppliers.• Assumed critical technical leader roles; led transmission controls for large off-highway machines, underground mining machines, and a company-first frac rig well stimulation transmission applications. Authored competitive performance technical reports and detailed project presentations with high quality.• Program Manager for the creation of the SuperComm2 remote data logger device project that is crucial for machine field follow data and logging of pilot machines worldwide. The project scope was to create the BOM and manufacturing and test processes from just a complex design print. This entailed sourcing custom multilayered circuit boards, enclosures, and selecting a manufacturing supplier. The project was completed on schedule and within budget proposed. • Accountable for over 1300 data logger devices are in active use worldwide and are valued over $3M. • Earned prestigious "Mountain Mover Award" for radical efficiency improvements in Caterpillar development processes with savings approaching $30M.

• Powertrain calibration engineer for all new 2005 Mustang GT program.• Sole powertrain calibration engineer for the 2001 Mustang GT Bullitt and 2003/04 Mustang Mach1 M/T programs – responsible for driveability and emissions calibration, aggressively calibrated to exceed the horsepower and torque targets. Convinced engineering program management on the need for a forged crankshaft in order to meet performance targets. Supported Chief Engineer reviews and defining product systems meetings. Met goals in highly compressed and dynamic programs.• Honored with Stock Options Award for actively addressing a systems hardware issue outside of my normal role; worked with hardware engineering teams to resolve it prior to production.• Led systems calibration development of the 2002 Mustang GT. Early adopter of new corporate software features to add customer value.• Accountable for development of the returnless fuel system, traction, torque, idle speed, spark, and knock control for the 1998 and 1999 4.6L 4V engines.• Calibrated an inferred fuel rail temperature algorithm resulting in a substantial program cost savings; calibrated air fuel-injector-spark control traction control system.
