I’ve been a member of the firm’s Executive Committee for more than a decade and previously served as co-manager of the firm’s Regulatory Department and practice leader of our Food, Drug, Medical Device & Cosmetic group.As an FDA regulatory lawyer and advertising advisor for pharmaceutical and other life sciences, medical device, food, dietary supplement, and cosmetic companies, my practice involves advising clients on a variety of legal and regulatory issues throughout all phases of a product’s life cycle, including:- Bringing new ingredients and products to market;- Developing compliant labeling, advertising, and marketing strategies;- Ensuring compliant and efficient distribution channels;- Responding to threatened external challenges, whether from regulators, consumer interest groups, or in the context of class action/products liability defense;- Preparing for and withstanding government investigations;- Evaluating and responding to adverse product information;- Coordinating recalls, market withdrawals, and other product corrective actions; and- Conducting regulatory compliance audits to ensure that product manufacturers and distributors are in full compliance with applicable laws and regulations.In addition, alongside attorneys in ArentFox Schiff’s Health Care, Intellectual Property, Corporate, and Complex Litigation practices, I negotiate licensing, supply, and distribution agreements, conduct due diligence audits of acquisition targets, prepare regulatory compliance opinions in support of public offerings, and support food and drug-related litigation.I am recognized as a Leading Lawyer for Business by Chambers USA in the areas of Food & Beverage and Healthcare: Pharmaceutical and Medical Device, am rated among the Best Lawyers in America for FDA Law and Advertising Law, and have been named as a Best Lawyer “Lawyer of the Year” for Advertising Law.
