As a self-taught artist who did not begin painting until the age of 25, Brian’s direction in art was formed more from his drawing style and personal creativity than from teachers or art history. His unique style is very spontaneous. He rarely sketches out his paintings, preferring to draw inspiration from the moment. He has always been inspired by the beauty of nature, architecture, biology, and culture, all of which add whimsical elements to his work.In 2016, Brian and his wife decided to fulfill their long-time dream of living abroad, selling their house and all their belongings and moving from Denver, Colorado, USA to Costa Rica.Brian currently resides in Ojochal, Puntarenas, Costa Rica.
