Associate DirectorWm Armstrong (Longtown) Ltd Sep 2012 - Feb 2017Carlisle, United KingdomReporting into the Group M.D, this role was responsible for the 300 strong Wm Armstrong fleet & a strategy to future proof Cumbria Truck Centre (Carlisle) & Armstrong Truck (Glasgow). Key brands included Isuzu Truck, SAIC Maxus Van, Carrier Transicold, CAT & Truckapart. I also designed, built and commissioned the first ATF MOT Station in Carlisle which has proved very successful.Accountabilities included Dealer Principal status, group procurement, commercial workshops & DVSA - ATF MOT Centre as well as retail sales. We also launched Truckapart, an on line parts website building up a global group of customers that delivered triple digit growth for 3 consecutive years. Following the acquisition and merger of Home Delivery Network & DHL Domestic in 2010, I planned & delivered a huge change strategy which successfully merged 2 large fleet departments consisting of c6,500 vehicles & 3 H.O functions, the facilities dept consisting of 125 sites & multiple contracts, sortation engineering in 4 large distribution hubs and national driver training functions. All departments were successfully transitioned into business as usual at which point I continued to lead all functions.# Annual Budget - £120m + £54m fuel procurement.# I also led the Yodel rebranding strategy which included vehicles, property & uniform design & provision for 10,000 employees at that time.# Successfully lowering the cost to operate by £12m + in 2011 (12 month). # A member of the operational board of directors my key areas of accountability included fleet procurement, maintenance, O-Licence compliance, management of accident damage, driver training (CPC & SAFED) ,£54m fuel procurement & management, network utilities, waste management, uniform sourcing & provision, conveyor systems, telecoms, forllift truck and property management. -
