American distribution was serviced from a Gemtex distribution center/factory in Buffalo with growing financing requirements serviced by an American bank.Foreign markets were further developed with a joint venture Gemtex factory in Malaysia as well as a license agreement for the manufacture of Gemtex product in China.The company was sold in 1995 to Glit, a subsidiary of Katy Industries listed on the New York Stock Exchange.
