Marra Worra Worra is the oldest and largest Aboriginal Resource Agency in the Kimberley region of Western Australia. Marra Worra Worra's focus is strong; to work with Bunuba, Gooniyandi, Wangkatungka, Walmajarri and Nyikina to strengthen culture, support community and create sustainable solutions for the Valley. We employ more than 70 local people and provide a number of support services including housing, employment, community development and other elements connected to self determination. With approximately 650 registered members, Marra Worra Worra provides a forum through which people of the region discuss and act on issues of common concern.

The Kimberley Land Council was formed in 1978 by Kimberley Aboriginal people as a political land rights organisation. Today, we have grown to become the peak Indigenous body in the Kimberley region working with Aboriginal people to secure native title recognition, conduct conservation and land management activities and develop cultural business enterprises.We are located in the vast Kimberley region of northern Western Australia. Our region is known for its strong and significant Aboriginal culture and heritage that dates back more than 50,000 years. We continue to work to ensure that our land, law, language and culture lives on and continues to be vibrant and long-lasting. We do this by getting back our country, looking after our country and securing our future.The Kimberley covers about 423,000 sq km with an estimated population of 35,000 people – half of whom are Indigenous. Kimberley Aboriginal people have undergone rapid and significant changes since European colonisation but we have resisted, survived and adapted.The Kimberley Land Council was set-up for the benefit of all Kimberley Aboriginal people and works with about 25 native title groups to get native title recognition, protect and enhance the high biodiversity values of the region, pursue cultural enterprise development and work to improve our socioeconomic circumstances. We are one of the biggest employers in the Kimberley, employing about 130 staff across the divisions of native title, legal, land and sea management, corporate services and finance. We have offices in Broome, Kununurra and Derby as well as smaller satellite stations in remote communities that act as a base for Kimberley Ranger Network teams.

Leads the newly established Western Australia Police Aboriginal Affairs Division for strategy and initiatives for::Aboriginal Employment :Cultural Inclusion & Competency :Stakeholder Engagement :Aboriginal Affairs Strategies:Reconciliation Action Planaimed at achieving increased Aboriginal employment; reduction of Aboriginal over representation in the Justice system as victims and offenders.

Based in Darwin led face to face services across Northern Australia and then led 2000+ employees in the delivery of Centrelink telephony and processing services from Smart (Call) Centres located in WA, SA, ACT and NSW.

Brian as the WA Public Sectors 2nd most senior Aboriginal employee has the lead role in providing high level advice for Aboriginal strategy and workforce development for the sectors 200 plus agencies and 138000 plus employees. He oversees and directs the sector wide Aboriginal Employment Strategy and is currently developing the Commission's 2016-2020 Aboriginal Employment and Leadership Strategies.

Brian was recruited after a distinguished 29 year WA Police Career as the inaugural Chief Operating Officer for the WA State Government Statutory Aboriginal Affairs Coordinating Committee. The committee membership consists of eight Director Generals and two Commissioners of lead government agencies. The COO role was directly responsible for AACC Strategy; Crisis Response; and Priority Locations trialling and modelling for improved service delivery models. Reporting directly to the AACC heads of government and ministers, Brian prepared reports critically analysing service delivery to inform better strategy and practices.

Brian held a 29 year policing career specialising in Aboriginal Affairs developing statewide networks with both Aboriginal Communities and service providers. Brian served in Perth, Roebourne, Geraldton, Kalgoorlie, Laverton, Kellerberrin, Katanning, Busselton and Broome. Brian was awarded 4 medals and two Commissioner's Citations during a distinguished 29 year career.
