Working for American Industrial Partners (AIP), acquired a group of 2 aerospace composite manufacturers and 3 aerospace tooling companies via carve-out from a UK public company. - Developed composite businesses through significant backlog expansion in U.S. and Europe, deeper penetration of ceramic matrix composites niche, operational efficiency improvements, facility expansion and talent upgrades. Business sold to PCC in 2015 resulting in double-digit MOIC.- Re-branded tooling companies (formerly competitors) as Ascent Aerospace. Merged companies into common manufacturing and business process with results-based financial incentives, leadership development and Lean/visual factory-based product flow, together with smart bidding strategies and capacity management tools.- Performed 4 greenfield start-ups and made 4 acquisitions of automation and integration companies - in Seattle, Michigan, France, Spain, Germany and the UK - Transformed Ascent from US-focused tooling-only business (short backlog/capital intensive) into global provider of assembly-line integration services and automation products (long backlog/less capital) with highly differentiated tooling capabilities that advantage the integration business

Oversaw 20% sales growth with minimal increases to headcount; improved gross profit by 5%. Used daily performance boards and factory walks to drive on-time delivery from ~70% to >95% in one year. Tripled number of Kaizen events and linked to results; formed rotational Lean Teams to create agents of change. Acquired PL Porter Company and integrated into business, including facility relocation and compensation alignment. 

Full P&L responsibility and management oversight of ~200 employees encompassing marketing, program management, systems and product engineering, and operations. Orchestrated complete financial and schedule turnaround; moved from $15 million loss position to consistent profitability within 9 months. Replaced senior management staff and redirected focus of organization to reduce product costs and lead times to consistently meet earnings and schedule commitments. Aggressively implemented Lean improvements in standard work, visual planning, and production flow. Used whiteboards to link daily production goals to customer commitments, and established real-time corrective action for job delays and line stops. 

Turned around engineering/manufacturing organization within six months of dissolution and established position as profitable, market leader.
