I smoke test the software, report bugs and regression bugs, check that committed code works as intended. Create, run, and fix automation tests to go through different points in the portal software, using Selenium RC, WebDriver, and an internally-developed, object-oriented language for interfacing with WebDriver and all HTML elements. Work often includes regular expressions, templating languages (Velocity, Freemarker, XSL), adjusting settings in *.properties files, and optimizing Ant scripts in *.xml files. Testing software iterations (service packs, fix packs) pre-release. Training new-hires in QA on 'how' to accomplish tasks, while focusing the attention on 'why' things are done.

I tested the water product (Dasani and smartwater) for any presence of microbials (e.coli/coliform, pseudomonas aeruginosa, heterotrophic count, yeast and mold) and mineral balance (total dissolvable solids, bromate, alkalinity, turbidity). I produced various agar solutions to store in petri dishes for microbial testing. I also calibrated the computerized vision system to reject bottles that didn't meet certain fill, cap, or label specifications.

I babysat machines, making sure they were supplied with preforms, caps, labels, glue, keeping the workstation clean so as to foster better productivity, more collaborative teamwork, and raised morale.
