About Brian Yamauchi

Highly-experienced roboticist specializing in autonomous navigation for mobile robots. Over 20 years of experience designing, developing, and integrating software systems for autonomous robots. My goal is to develop autonomous robots that are useful and can be turned into successful products. I'm open to both technical lead and principal-level individual contributor roles. I'm particularly interested in positions that combine influence on product direction with hands-on robotics development. I believe in working in a way that is highly interdisciplinary, with close coordination between software, electrical, and mechanical engineering and product design.I've worked on a wide range of robotic applications -- from robot lawnmowers to autonomous vehicles to industrial floor-cleaning robots, from R&D for military robots to a robot for inspecting the Space Shuttle. I've also worked in a variety of settings, from consumer product companies to research labs to NASA centers, with sponsors and partners ranging from DARPA to John Deere to VC investors.

Listed skills include Robotics, Mobile Robotics, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, and 12 others.
