Research Scientist with over 15 years of experience spanning a diverse array of fields from nanofabrication and biophysics to biochemistry and cell biology. Skilled in NMR Spectroscopy and X-Ray Crystallography, Fluorescence and Transmission Electron Microscopy, Protein Chemistry, Biophysics, Mammalian Cell Culture, Clinical Laboratory Science, and Molecular Biology. Strong, self-starting professional with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) focused in Pharmacology and Biomolecular Structure from University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. My scientific accomplishments have been recognized in several peer-reviewed publications. In 2013, structural and biophysical studies on an odorant-binding protein (OBP) from the malaria vector mosquito Anopheles gambiae were selected for the Protein Society’s “Best Paper” award. In 2016, work exploring the regulation of a reconstituted multi-protein signaling module was deemed New and Notable by Biophysical Journal and selected for its Single Molecule Biophysics Collection. I enjoy challenging myself with interesting goals, questions and diverse methodologies. As such, I can lay claim to a diverse skill set ranging from parallel nanofabrication using thermoacidiphilic bacterial masks to building guitar amplifiers in my basement.When not in pursuit of scientific enlightenment, I enjoy spending time with my wife and two young sons. Along with them, I can be found skiing, hiking, climbing, camping, creating pottery (wheel throwing and handbuilding) and attempting to repurpose / reengineer found items. Occasionally, I volunteer time mystifying elementary-aged audiences with scientific demonstrations.
