I am responsible for communicating items to all parents, players, and coaches. I collaborate with the director of coaching on the premier side in implementation of player movement between teams. I also offer suggestions to coaches through attending games and practices. I work with players and coaches on the field through leading training sessions.

I was in charge of preparations for the summer institute, which involved high school and college students from the United States and Pakistan. I was involved with creating a curriculum for the program that tied EPA Biomonitoring Protocols to Ohio's state science standards. Other duties included leading ecological lessons and activities to students and teachers. I also was a co-leader in the training of college near-peer mentors for the program.

Cape Cod National Seashore

Dune slack wetlands are found at the extent of the Outer Cape of Cape Cod National Seashore, where post-glacial movement and accumulation of sediments, powered by wind and wave action, have formed the sand spit and dune landscape known as the Province Lands. The study involved intensely surveying and monitoring 26 wetlands on soil type, water quality, and vegetation. Plant and water samples were identified and analyzed in the field, while soil samples were analyzed in the laboratory. The main objectives of the study were to collect data for the long-term vegetation monitoring of vegetation change in the Cape Cod National Seashore. This is an ongoing study and protocol developed by Stephen M. Smith, a plant ecologist in the National Park Service.

I am part of Igniting Streams of Learning in Science (ISLS). ISLS is a program that uses current scientific protocols, such as the Primary Headwater Habitat Assessment (PHWH) and the Ohio Rapid Assessment Method for wetlands (ORAM), to engage learning in high schools across Northeast Ohio. I worked with one teacher and five students during the summer of 2012. We developed ways to engage students into science and changed ways the teachers deliver scientific content to the students. I also worked extensively in the wetlands at the field station, generating QR codes as a learning tool for specific ORAM metrics. I now have continued this role for another summer.
