Business Development Associate
Current• Lead end to end proposal development process from initial ideation to submission for the firm’s Research & Analysis and Communications & Engagement lines of business, contributing to the firm’s growth via BD revenue • Won contracts worth $8.9M in 2019, the highest annual total in Cascadia’s 28-year history; $5.2M in the COVID-affected 2020; and $7.45M as of August 2021, exceeding the firm’s 2021 BD revenue goal, as part of the two-person BD team• Craft proposal outlines that are compliant with RFP requirements• Drive proposal strategy and staffing decisions through consistent collaboration with internal partners, including project management staff and Cascadia directors, to tailor RFP responses to each client • Pursue project opportunities with a range of clients including local governments, corporations, universities, and non-profit organizations• Provide directors with strategic insights on whether to pursue project opportunities based on Cascadia competencies, capacity, and the broader competitive landscape• Build and strengthen relationships with external partners to help craft winning proposal teams• Member of Cascadia’s Racial Equity Task Force and Co-Lead of the Relationships Subcommittee that works to grow and strengthen partnerships with BIPOC-led organizations by understanding core competencies and mutual goals• Provide detailed writing and grammar reviews of written deliverables, including waste characterization study designs and final project reports, as a member of the Editorial Board, Cascadia’s internal quality control team• Interviewed 11 stakeholders and wrote the three stories featured in the Puget Sound Partnership’s “Stories of Recovering Puget Sound” series for their 2019 State of the Sound report
