Brian Vaughn was both President and Co-Founder of Shipshape IT. Brian managed Operations, Business Development, Public Relations and Strategic Partnerships for the company. Over his thirty-year career in Information Technology, Brian has had the pleasure of working with some great organizations and people. Building IT Services to scale began as a Co-Founder and Principal in Dataprise Inc., between its founding until 2007. And together with his Partner, Samuel Abramson - took on new levels of innovation with a high-touch, white glove approach to fixed price Managed IT Services, and Managed Security Services with Shipshape IT beginning in 2010. Brian is firm believer of the symbiosis between long-term clients and long-term employees. He understands that planning for scale is as important to client experience, as it is for staff retention. Similarly, Brian is extremely active in the local community as both a business and as a volunteer for Montgomery County Public Schools. Brian is very active in the Bethesda Chamber of Commerce, The National Association of Business Owners and Entrepreneurs, and is President of the Information Technology Foundation for The Foundations Office at Montgomery County Public Schools. Brian graduated in 1991 with a Bachelor’s of Science from the University of Maryland College Park. He lives with his daughter in Bethesda, Maryland.

Work with full-time Foundation staff, other volunteer Board Members and ITF Corporate Sponsors to advocate and grow various IT related curriculum and course-work in Montgomery County Public Schools. This includes fundraising, PR, and other activities to help obtain industry standard certifications for MCPS students. Prior activities consisted of course development for revised '07 curriculum to augment the pre-existing CompTIA A+ and Network+ hardware courses.

As the exclusive marketing and business development executive within the company at the time, Mr. Vaughn spearheaded the company's brand and marketing strategy. As a result, Mr. Vaughn achieved over 100% in top-line revenue during less than two and a half years with the firm. Beyond this increase in annual revenues during his employment term, Mr. Vaughn drove an evolution within OmniTI's solution/pricing structure, contracts management practices, engagement methodology and KPI structure and reconciliation for C-level consulting engagements.

Co-founded and managed this closely held computer network support and managed services provider since inception. Dataprise became one of the premiere mid-market focused firms in the mid-Atlantic region. Managed and supervised the company's ~27% year-over-year growth throughout the last four years. Since growing the company from its inception, the firm had recently grown to $11.5 million in revenue in 2006 and over 86 employees. Client sales efforts, success and according growth in remote geographies spawned additional offices in Baltimore, Northern Virginia, New York City and Philadelphia. Mr. Vaughn managed all operations and business development personnel.

Responsible for GSA Schedule 70/A revenues from the Marine Corp. Developed vendor alliances and identified, qualified and closed systems solutions. These enterprise solutions centered primarily around the Sun Microsystems platform. Exceeded quota by 20 percent.Managed delivery, integration and implementation of products and system solutions. Additional responsibilities consisted of forming partnerships with vendors and subcontractors on large program and solution opportunities.

Performed marketing and sales of Silicon Graphics and associated third-party vendors via 70/A GSA Schedule. Major accounts: NIST and NRL. Secondary responsibilities included sales for commercial network and systems integrations products and services.

Tasked with marketing services and networking hardware to federal clientele via GSA Schedule 70 B/C and other contracting vehicles. Developed and managed accounts with buyers and end users of various U.S. and internal military installations. These efforts resulted in sales of more than $7 million of products such as Cabletron, Banyan, Dell and Cisco in 1994.Other responsibilities included identification, capture management and proposal development of Air Force, DLA, DMA and DISA opportunities up to $3 million. This included developing requirements and configuring solutions with customers, in addition to partnering and negotiating with subs/primes and manufacturers.

Assigned to the company's World Bank contract. Researched and implemented special projects and services related to both vendors and the World Bank's user community. Several larger projects are outlined beloOversaw and implemented the introduction of cell phone services to the Bank. Conducted vendor, hardware and service selection and assessed technical and logistical issues.Reviewed and reconciled Bell Atlantic/World Bank's circuit inventory reports. This included cross-sectioning flat rate and distance sensitive data circuits with Bank requisitions, orders of disconnect and previous billing.Revised the Bank's telecommunications RFP. Drafted technical position descriptions, service and process documents/definitions.Formulated and drafted policy statements that established procedures as well as budgetary and financial protocol for interdepartmental staff and vendor relationships.

Founded and operated company. Researched and negotiated company's product lines and services which focused on voice and data transmission services. TelCon's communications efficiency reviews addressed the inefficiencies in these connection services. Upon having discrepancies and erroneous billings identified. TelCon negotiated with providers to migrate client to different service providers, and wear appropriate, to credit clients for inaccurate billings.
