In college, I majored in Philosophy and minored in Religion. Working with people, attempting to do good, learning new things, struggling with complex problems - these were all the things that gave me life! However, the one question I never asked of myself was... what do I do for work? Candid moment - I had to figure this out. And it was a journey... • I sold real estate for 6 years because it allowed me to meet people, solve problems, and find a flexible schedule to volunteer and do the things I loved. • I worked with two non profits - City Rescue Mission and Seniors on a Mission - both incredible organizations that support folks that are often pushed to the margins of society. I helped raise funds, volunteers, and awareness. • I helped a buddy build one of the most popular Blackberry Software App companies in North America by delivering the Go-To-Market strategies that helped propel a handful of apps to wild, but short, success (B-Light, QuickPull, Edocrab, and others). • I worked with an interior plant company helping them transform workspaces into beautiful environments where work can flourish. • I also provided consulting to various small businesses on how to grow their companies. And then I stumbled upon the world of educational publishing, and it felt like my "seeking" found a home. In Edtech, I get to work with talented people, attempt to do good, learn all sorts of new things, struggle with highly complex problems - and be part of the best life-giving movements in the country. This is exactly what I was looking for all along.
