My work at Janelia is primarily focused on advancing the state-of-the-art in extracellular electrophysiology, both through my development of the WHISPER Silicon Probe Extracellular Recording System and testing and deployment of Neuropixels probes.Played a critical role in the development of the IMEC Neuropix Probes project, a next generation brain-machine interface that can record the activity of hundreds of neurons in real-time• Performed basic bench tests, made the basic test setup work in real neuroscience experiments, and acted as the first line of support. • Trained in the use of the technology and traveled to sites to demo and setup recording capability in the field, enabling rapid deployment and adoption.• This allowed scientific data to be taken in the field ultimately resulting in a Nature publication and mainstream news coverageDeveloped the HHMI Silicon Probe Extracellular Recording System (WHISPER) resulting in a cost-effective, modular, high channel count data acquisition system for extracellular neural probes • Used by over 15 labs worldwide to collect data published in over 10 scientific journals• The technology is currently being offered as a licensing opportunity through the Janelia Open Science
