I partner with congregations, mission-based organizations and individual families to provide strategic leadership, innovative education and compassionate pastoral care. Additionally, organizations have hired me to enhance organizational health, deepen/retain voluntary membership, manage complex professional teams and strengthen efforts toward more successful outreach and inclusion.

Congregation Beth Chaim (Princeton Junction, NJ): A community of 400+ families with substantial professional staff, educational opportunities and multi-generational programming. My role was to help the congregation transition from a Senior Rabbi who served over 40 years, along with an Associate Rabbi, to one settled rabbi. We focused on evolving the partnership between lay leadership and clergy/staff, as well as developing an infrastructure to advance their vision and mission. Staff development, engagement with membership, strategic planning and fundraising were at the core of what we addressed together.Temple Beth-El (Jersey City, NJ): A diverse and engaged 165+ family congregation. Successes during my tenure included partnering with leadership to achieve 10% growth in membership, expanding the school from 50-80 students, and addressing fiscal management. I performed all full-time rabbinic responsibilities.Congregation Beth David (Gladwyne, PA): Temporarily covered all rabbinic responsibilities while their rabbi was on maternity leave.

In addition to extensive pastoral, teaching and other rabbinic duties, I served as the head of the staff, partnered with volunteer leadership on strategic planning, fundraising, and coordinated Temple programming, which focused on engaging and nurturing relationships within the community. I solicited major gifts and collaborated with volunteer leadership to develop an effective marketing campaign. Over $2.5 million in unrestricted gifts was raised as a result. Areas of focus included: Shaareinu (award-winning, nationally recognized initiative to welcome people with disabilities), Social Action/Social Justice (e.g. working with people with addictions, the homeless and working poor, and natural disaster relief), Interfaith Study and Programming, and Rockland UNITE (initiative to bring together high school students from Muslim, Jewish and Christian communities to foster interfaith harmony through study and action).

Developed an array of new programs focused on youth, as well as adult education and interfaith families. Temple Shaari Emeth was then an 850-family congregation.

Initiated a Reunion Giving Program, setting the vision and action plan; personally solicited major gifts up to $100,000; recruited, trained and managed 40 volunteers who solicited gifts; created manual for volunteers, wrote direct mail solicitation pieces and other marketing materials

Managed Annual Fund operation, including staff, analysis, reporting and budget; was part of the Capital Campaign staff team; developed a strategic plan for annual giving

Assisted with implementing a $2 million challenge gift from The Coca-Cola Foundation; recruited Senator Sam Nunn as Honorary National Chair; organized the executive committee and Emory Challenge Fund Board, creating the organizational structure and developing volunteer job descriptions; initiated and managed corporate matching gifts program; supervised management team and support staff

Initiated new fundraising program through volunteer major gift asks, direct mail, personal solicitation, volunteer phonathons and telemarketing; recruited and coordinated over 150 volunteers

Transformed fundraising phone solicitation from consultant-driven to in-house operation; hired, trained and managed staff of 40 students
