Division Manager Of Information Technology
CurrentI am responsible for the Software Division at a 2,200 person organization with sixteen business units. This includes all the operational pieces you would come to expect including budgeting, personal, service delivery and relationship building. My role also includes developing the strategy and vision for the division. We have a successful track record of meeting our customers business needs. I have built a culture of looking beyond what widget the customer wants and focusing on what is the business need, opportunity or problem. One of my larger accomplishments was the identification of a gap in the COTS market's ability to support us in document and task management for one of our departments. We build a custom suite of software that has saved that department that department $1.4 million dollars a year. We also identified that this value was needed by all counties. Seeing the opportunity to make potentially every county more efficient we created a SaaS offering. I decided on the unheard of business model of a SaaS offering between government organizations after extensive research showed that of previous software sharing models where flawed. The key to using a SaaS model is that it created the low cost of entry for our partners, but had the continues revenue to provide a sustainable support model. Granter in several presentation has described our SaaS offering as an example of a small team creating digital transformation, including during 2018 Symposium. Garnter analysts have described our efforts as a “market disrupter”.
