Like many customers, Blue Cross needed an Enterprise metadata solution, but to truly address their needs, we had to custom-fit the solution framework to address their key pain points. I led the customization of the solution to meet the customer's unique needs, guiding them through the implementation of our enterprise product. Thanks to my leadership, we successfully rolled out our metadata integration framework, which included integrations with key systems like DB2, Erwin Data Modeler, Oracle, and AS400. I led a team of developers, project managers, and consultants in integrating ER logical models containing business metadata, developing custom meta-models, creating enterprise metadata mapping templates for metadata integration, and defining data stewardship procedures and policies. I also provided program and project management for third-party vendors and cross-functional teams, ensuring compliance with data governance frameworks and requirements for identifying and classifying health information assets.Following the successful customization and implementation of our metadata integration framework, we delivered a fully customized, feature-rich, collaborative Business Intelligence metadata portal for our customer's business and technical teams. This portal provided a faceted search and taxonomy navigation of business glossaries, along with full end-to-end visual lineage from the logical data model of the original system to the technical physical column in the database. This solution preserved vital tribal knowledge as valuable resource for the business by enabling an instant search of their common business terms from the old system, simplifying the transition to the new claim system.

Sabre Holdings Corporation is one of the largest technology companies in the world and provides software solutions for the travel industry, including airlines, hotels, and travel agencies. As the Delivery Manager and Principal Consultant for a massive scale customer, I led a Data Classification & Cataloging Project for GDPR Compliance with the rollout of a Enterprise Metadata Solution. Our mission was to automate, catalog, classify, and analyze enterprise digital assets, which included over 30 thousand data models to reverse engineer for metadata.The project involved hundreds of systems, including Oracle, Db2, AS400, Mainframe, Text, Hadoop, Cloudera, EDW, MDM, and ER Models. We implemented both business and technical metadata, data lineage, and impact analysis, which required automated clustering and classification processes. Additionally, we established Data Governance & Stewardship procedures.Through my leadership, we successfully delivered the project on-time and within budget, which allowed the customer to comply with GDPR regulations. I also provided expert guidance on best practices for metadata management and governance, which improved the efficiency and effectiveness of the customer's operations.To address compliance and data quality, we also developed and implemented as part of the enterprise data governance program, policies, standards, and procedures for data management, as well as assigning ownership and accountability for the data. We established a metadata stewardship program to ensure the ongoing maintenance and accuracy of the metadata.As a result of our efforts, our customer was able to achieve GDPR compliance and gain greater control and visibility over their data assets. The metadata classification and cataloging processes we implemented improved data quality and enabled more effective data analytics and reporting. The data governance program we put in place helped to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

As a vendor lead in the media industry, we not only successfully delivered the custom real-time streaming integration solution for A&E's 20 EDAM systems but also contributed to the industry standard FIMS (Framework for Interoperable Media Services) standard. This involved leading the architecture and managing the development team to deliver a messaging middleware solution that leveraged the InfoLibrarian integration framework to ingest metadata from the disparate EDAM systems to a central registry using a canonical A&E meta-model we helped define. We also deployed an enterprise media taxonomy web services registry compliant with FIMS.Our cross-functional management of project deliverables involved working closely with A&E's in-house development team, consultants, and third-party consulting firms. In addition, we developed a governance, stewardship, and taxonomy management program for business metadata and delivered executive presentations on the project's progress and outcomes.The result of this large custom integration project was a messaging middleware solution that enabled A&E's marketing team to combine television branded series and episodes into syndication packages and stream all relevant assets and metadata, including TV guides, using a FIMS format to partners like Netflix.
