Joined this 19-year-old developer of first-of-its-kind software for centralizing and managing applications to professional and graduate schools in the healthcare space as a full-time consultant. Led a shift in the firm’s business model from licensing the application directly to professional and school associations in such disciplines as dentistry, veterinary science, public health, pharmacy, nursing, and occupational therapy to a Software as a Service (SaaS) in which revenue for both the associations and the company derives from student application fees rather than software sales, raised the university and college client base from a few hundred to a few thousand• Built the client base from the original 7 associations to 28 at the time of the company’s sale, and only one of the original 7 continues a licensed user of the software.• Overhauled the sales and marketing and hired and trained a sales team to promote the new business model.• Successfully launched the first Accreditation Management Software solution to complement the core software services business for specialized health accreditors.• Built revenue from approximately $3M to more than $24M annually over only four years.• Successfully negotiated a minority equity investment with Polaris Venture Partners, achieving a premium valuation and equity investment for the shareholders, and closing one of only a few private equity transactions in 2009 nationwide.
