I'm a builder - businesses, teams, and yes, even the physical structures themselves back in the day. It started from the time I was a kid, when I developed a fascination with downtowns - the interesting collections of buildings right next to each other with so many diverse activities going on inside them. When I began to see mine emptying out, like so many others, I knew I wanted to be a part of rebuilding it. At first I took that literally - going to school to study architecture and engineering to revitalize and repurpose historic buildings. Later, I realized that I could have an additional impact by being a part of getting new business energy into those spaces for revitalization and growth.Fast forward to today, I have a two-pronged approach to support business: guiding companies as they come into existence, and also advising business how to operate efficiently so they stay in existence. From Main Street businesses to Fortune 500 corporations, and from incubators/accelerators to economic development agencies, my clients have benefited from interacting with me and my teams for over a decade.In addition to a substantial library of operations know-how, key tools in my leadership toolbox are: actively listening to constituents and 360-degree awareness of everyone in the ecosystem; circumspection while clearly seeing all points of view; and optimizing a strategic win-win outcome that can be operationally executed by a balance of guidance and inclusion of all stakeholders.
