I am a shareholder in the San Diego office of Buchalter and a member of the Real Estate Practice Group and the Land Use team. I frequently assist public and private clients with California Environmental Quality Act (“CEQA”) compliance, planning and zoning issues, Subdivision Map Act processing, Williamson Act issues, climate change/greenhouse gas strategies, Coastal Commission processing, prevailing wage considerations and all other manner of documentation required to acquire, develop, entitle, redevelop, occupy and sell property. In addition, I regularly appear before administrative agencies such as Planning Commissions, City Councils and I handle litigation, at the trial court and appellate court levels, with respect to entitlements, CEQA, Subdivision Map Act and other land use related matters.Community and professional activities include service on the Boards for organizations such as the Downtown San DIego Partnership, the La Jolla YMCA, Home Aid-San Diego and the Beach & Bay YMCA. I am also a member of Lambda Alpha International and active with organizations such as the Urban Land Institute and the BIA. Prior to my legal career, I worked at the City of San Diego and the Southeastern Economic Development Corporation ("SEDC"​). In my position as a planner at the City, I served as a project manager who was responsible for reviewing projects for planning and zoning consistency, working with project applicants and making project presentations to the City's Hearing Officers, Planning Commission and City Council. In my position with SEDC, I acted as a liason with the City and the community, reviewed development projects, assisted with the adoption of a new redevelopment project area and worked on affordable housing and planning policies and programs.Specialties: Land use, permitting/entitlements, climate change, CEQA, land use litigation, real estate development, infill development, environmental, renewable energy and prevailing wage matters.
