Child Care State Systems Specialist to provide training and technical assistance to Child Care Development Block Grant (CCDBG) grantees (states and territories) to assist with the implementing the CCDBG and improving the accessibility of high quality child care and the development of comprehensive early childhood systems. Includes working with Federal and state-level partners, such as the Office of Child Care, Head Start, the Maternal and Child Health Bureau’s Early Childhood Comprehensive Systems Initiatives, child welfare, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, State Departments of Education and state Early Learning Advisory Councils. This position is home based within Colorado, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah and Wyoming (Region VIII) with 25% travel required to provide technical assistance in states identified as Region VIII states.

Ultimately, I assisted the Director of the Office of Early Childhood with the implementation of important reforms and achieving our desired program outcomes.I strived to achieve these outcomes by providing direction and leadership for the internal operations of the Office of Early Childhood. As Deputy to the Office Director, I served as the office's operational manager responsible for implementing, and translating into outcomes, the Director’s vision, goals, and objectives. Specifically, I worked to ensure fulfillment of the office's mission and goals to promote the outcomes within each of the eleven programs in the Office of Early Childhood: Head Start State Collaboration Director; Colorado Children’s Trust Fund; Family Resource Centers; Nurse Home Visitor Program; Maternal, Infant, and Early Childhood Home Visiting Program; Child Care Quality Initiatives; Colorado Child Care Assistance Program; Mental Health Consultation; Part C/Early Intervention Services; Promoting Safe and Stable Families; Early and Periodic Screening Diagnosis and Treatment.

Helped to develop an environment where my Bal Swan family can thrive & positive outcome for all can be achieved! Lead the building of the US's first sustainable early childhood organization shared service alliance with the support of Early Learning Ventures, The Daniels Fund, Mile High United Way, The Piton Foundation, & The Walton Fund.
