I set up and ran irreversible electroporation experiments on human pancreatic cancer cells in collagen hydrogels. I stained and imaged hydrogels using a confocal microscope to calculate lesion size and electric field cell death thresholds. -
Electrochemical Mineral Extraction ResearchVirginia Tech May 2022 - Aug 2022Blacksburg, Virginia, United StatesPrincipal Investigator: Dr. Lei ZuoI determined the electrode materials for an electrochemical system to extract lithium from seawater. I also calculated and programmed the optimal experimental parameters for our setup. I then ran extraction experiments using an electrochemical H cell and seawater samples with different salt concentrations. Lastly, I characterized the electrodes after the experiments using X-ray diffraction.

I presented this work at the Office of Undergraduate Research Symposium in April 2021 and April 2022.
