My role in Rackspace's Private Cloud division involved building a platform to provide actionable insights on support operations and fleet utilization.- Built a Flask-based service to consume and report on data from Google BigQuery, Jira, and InfluxDB- Investigations reduced automated ticket creation, improved fleet monitoring, and provided a better view of support effort

I came to Rackspace's Developer Experience team to lead their Python efforts within the open source community. My initial contributions were to the Apache Libcloud and Pyrax libraries, eventually leading to the creation of the OpenStack SDK.- Led the OpenStack SDK project from initial design through its first 36 releases- Organized in-person working sessions and distributed R&D meetings across several companies; met with users at several conferences- Automated Sphinx tooling to enforce 100% documentation coverage of public APIs- Top contributor of code reviews, second highest commit countThis role also involved representing the team at various events, including conferences, meetups, and hackathons. In some of those events I spoke about our platform and open source work.

- Created various Python-built infrastructure used for automated testing. Projects included a unittest-based regression suite, a performance testing library, a set of C extensions, and other helpful tools.- Developer on the FMDS team. FMDS is TT's financial market data server, which collects and stores high volumes of trade data across all TT-supported markets, and services requests from TT's X_STUDY historical & live charting solution. FMDS uses C++ with some support GUI tools in C#.- Taught beginner and intermediate Python courses both to non-developers and non-Python developers. As Python use rose at TT, there was a need for training and I was able to put together a successful two-part course to get people up to speed with what they'd need to know to hit the ground running in their projects.

Worked as a developer but mainly as a tester, leading the test effort for a group of students who created a messaging system to conform to parts of MIL-STD-3011 and MIL-STD-6016C for near real-time transfer of navigation and identification data. The project was done through a partnership between St. Vincent College and ProLogic, Incorporated.
