About Brian Daly
I have worked in the creative Industries for 30 years - 25 years as a creative in the advertising and brand communication industry. I was at the Creative helm of Australia’s largest regionally based agency, Enigma, for nearly 10 years, before founding my own Creative Brand Communication Consultancy, The Proverbials in 2015. As Global Director of Creative Strategy (and previously as Global Director of Communications) with Animals Asia I was responsible for growth of the brand, looking after the creative output of communications and marcomms internal and external, as well as helping develop the long-term strategy of the organisation. I worked with the senior team members across our various programs and operational areas to develop and implement brand and communication strategies that would further the aims of improving animal welfare in our region, and connect with wonderfully generous, empathetic and loyal supporters. I was fortunate to work with an incredibly talented global team across Asia Pacific, UK, EU and US, and to be able to utilise my 25 years’ experience in brand communications and advertising to help such an important cause and organisation. As an expert in creative brand communications, I am often asked to speak at industry events on the topics of brand, marketing, advertising, social media, creative process, innovation, and the value of the creative industries. I have also been a guest lecturer at the University of Newcastle and served on several steering and advisory committees. Some of the local, national and global clients I have worked with during my career include NIB Health Funds, Australia Post, Newcastle Permanent Building Society, RSPCA Australia, Carrier Air Conditioning, Sydney Water, NSW EPA, NSW RTA, GPT and Lend Lease Shopping Centres, Wesfarmers, Landcom, Urban Growth NSW, Charles Sturt University, TAFE NSW, Animals Asia, and Hope and Homes for Children. My experience is extensive across a broad range of industry sectors and my work has led to some outstanding results for clients, including a fourfold increase in packaged home loans for Newcastle Permanent in a 3-month period, a 60% increase in enquiry for TAFE Western NSW, and a 222% increase in year on year sales for NIB Health Funds.I am also an accomplished award-winning musician, songwriter, composer and director.I hold a Bachelor of Creative Arts degree from the University of Wollongong and a certificate in small business management.
