Part of the original Leadership Team, where I helped with both business development and software development.On the business development side, our team identified and then negotiated dozens of traffic partnerships. These partnerships locked in profitable sources of upstream traffic for Inflection's brands.On the software side, I led a small team of engineers and designers who built out our reporting and payment platforms in support of these various traffic deals.(As a start-up with less money to spend to acquire customers early on, we had to be flexible with how we put traffic deals together. That's why we creatively structured deals that best suited our partners, whether that was on a CPA, CPC, or CPM basis.)The ability to identify opportunities, work around technical blockers, and then make partnerships come together helped us sign over a dozen long-term contracts that formed a deep, highly competitive moat around Archives.com, which spurred on the Ancestry.com acquisition.

Raised funding and co-founded a private equity fund with a focus on technical analysis of emerging markets and commodity-related stocks. The fund was shut down following the Bear Sterns bankruptcy.

Co-founded a regional printer cartridge and cell phone recycling company while in high school. In order to then help pay my way through university, I grew this company both online and off-line.Cash4CartridgesUSA.com helped schools, churches, hospitals, businesses, and other organizations turn their e-waste into cash. This kept hundreds of thousands of pounds of plastic and metal from unnecessarily ending up in our landfills. It also enabled some terrific local PTA and other non-profit groups to raise money without asking their members for donations.After wrapping up a year studying abroad in Argentina (one of the best years of my life!), I sold the company at the age of 24 to a local investor for a 1.5x multiple of cash flow.
