I work cross-functionally with the Engineering, Clinical Data Management and Project Management teams on registry data taking into account client requests from our query and Pharmacovigilance work using real world evidence (RWE). Designed and implemented a data quality and unit testing framework for registry data. Routinely participate as a subject matter expert (SME) to internal and external clients.

Responsible for performing data mining, statistical modeling, business intelligence, and production support for retail energy segment marketing. Analyzed enrollment, conversion rate, customer usage, customer credit, cost of acquisition, gross margin, marketing return, and net present value by channel and product. Applied advanced statistical techniques to develop targeted models to predict enrollment, usage, length of tenure, default rate, and tracking performance of models.Statistical Analysis• Modeled the customer referral program to determine optimal price point for the referral payout rate. This led to an increase of over ten thousand new customers in the first 6 months while maintaining margin and increasing tenure of referral customers.• Analyzed the effect of allowing customers with past due bills to re-enroll into any program before paying their past due bill. As a result of this analysis the business decision was made to close the loophole which allowed enrollment agents to re-enroll customers with past due bills before repayment was cleared. Estimated annual savings is over one million dollars.• Performed survival analysis on the Average Monthly Billing program which revealed an attrition benefit for customers enrolled in this program. It was shown that the increased customer lifetime value continued to justify the increased overhead of maintaining the program.• Automated recurring business metrics reports (weekly, monthly, and quarterly) from SAS / Excel into R and Python, resulting in increased accuracy, better timeliness, and the ability to automate the running and scheduling allowing analysts to focus on current business issues and requests.

Performed statistical analysis, modeling, and bioinformatics in next-generation DNA sequence data, epidemiology, and clinical trials for various faculty research groups.• Researched and presented potential solutions to our data storage and data structure needs with a focus on reducing computation time and memory utilization. This reduced memory usage by 90% and reduced the computation time by 75%.• Performed statistical analysis and modeling of bioinformatics in DNA sequence data using a variety of statistical techniques (linear regression, multiple regression, logistic regression, survival models, mixed effects models, principal component analysis, etc).• Maintainer of the R package seqMeta on CRAN.• Created an integrated R and Python program to translate data between both the Variant Call Format (VCF) and the genotype matrix / SNP information format.• Developed a quality control and automated reporting system for next-generation sequence data.• Collaborated with investigators in grant development including statistical design of studies, sample size requirements, power calculations, and statistical methodology. STAT 398/598 Statistical Laboratory - This undergraduate/graduate course is part of the applied statistics curriculum. Topics include statistical software usage in data analysis and general programming methodologies. Primarily focused on R, S-Plus, and SAS.STAT 212 Introduction to Statistical Analysis - Introduction to the probability and statistical theory underlying the estimation of parameters and testing of statistical hypotheses, including those arising in the context of simple and multiple regression models.

Architected and implemented a new software quality tracking system. This included working with an outside quality group to ensure compliance with FDA standards. Developed standardized procedures and best practices for software testers to follow when generating test cases, test plans and test reports.

Developed real-time statistical models to detect credit card fraud. This entailed aggregating data from several Oracle databases into SAS, data cleaning, model fitting, model selection, and forecasting.

Administered Microsoft SQL Servers for the University of Virginia Medical Center. This included installing new servers and maintaining the existing servers. Project lead on database password security audit, which entailed automating cracking of user passwords. Assisted in implementing a new patient monitoring and tracking system.

Performed automated testing and manual verification of bug fixes on new and existing HP Proliant server ROMs. Designed, developed and maintained various test utilities and test tools for HP Proliant system ROM (BIOS) testing. Developed and executed test plans, reported and tracked problems and coordinated problem resolution.

Developed data protection and disaster recovery solutions with all Compaq StorageWorks equipment in a heterogeneous SAN environment. This included testing, qualifying, and troubleshooting all of Compaq tape automation, fibre attached RAID arrays, NAS, firmware, software, and fibre channel infrastructure products with various ISV’s. Researched and developed testing strategies and test plans for EBS (Enterprise Backup Solutions) to best utilize time and resources.

Supplied needed analysis and design documentation for multiple large-scale projects. Project coordination including supplying interface, shop and assembly drawings of various pressure-containing sub-sea equipment on Pro/E and AutoCAD systems. Designed, tested, analyzed, and documented risers, riser handling tools, and guideline winch skid. Wrote design and test reports and purchase specifications.

Worked directly with senior engineers on all products related to marine systems. Primary duties included supplying interface, bid, shop, and assembly drawings on a Pro/E system. Supplied technical analysis and design documentation for various certifying organizations. Designed risers, sub-sea blowout preventors, gate valves, actuators, and sub-sea Christmas trees.
