Managed the Photomask CAD organization in Wafer Engineering. The CAD group generated >1500 mask layers per year for recording head photolithography development/production and for air bearings. During this time, achieved a 200% growth in photomask design orders without increasing CAD Tech staff; a 40% cost reduction in photomask pricing (annual savings > $1 million) and a reduction of 50% in vendor turn-time.

• Managed all Machining/Assembly process dev. for the Advanced Recording Head Group.• Designed and supervised set-up of a 2500sq.ft manufacturing line for new technology recording head prototype builds. Line included all Machining and Assembly process steps.

• Served as Acting Manager of Machining Engineering (staff of 12) for final 6 months of role before being asked to join the Advanced Recording Head organization.• Served on three-person team that designed and implemented a fully automated part handling and machining manufacturing line.• Represented Engineering in set-up and start-up of a recording head machining cell that became the world standard for the company. • Wrote and maintained software for computer controlled process equipment.
