A key aspect of my role was to consistently achieve fulfillment of new product development recording head needs through daily engagement with the Design, Development, Integration, Product Core Team and Materials organizations.Detail• Led a strategic initiative with engagement from Operations, Technology Development and Industrial Engineering to create a system of Wafer WIP (Work In Process material) priorities, allowable WIP levels, and WIP buffers that significantly reduced turn-times and increased the predictability of delivery of development recording heads to the Disk Drive Development Centers.• Coordinated the ongoing fulfillment of New Product Development recording heads for multiple concurrent programs through daily engagement with the Design, Development, Integration, Operations, Product Core Team and Materials organizations. Product life-cycles were short, which in effect necessitated that ‘invention be on a schedule’. Attributes of the fast-paced Design/Development environment were a high frequency of changes in configurations, demand levels and priorities. • Led efforts for continuous improvement of systems and creation/reporting of metrics useful to stakeholders.• Led twice weekly Executive level meetings between the Minnesota and Northern Ireland sites to resolve issues and drive alignment across all RHO stakeholder organizations.• Assisted senior management of Seagate’s Northern Ireland Wafer Fab in hiring and training a direct counterpart of my U.S. role. -

The CAD group generated >1500 mask layers per year for recording head photolithography development/production and for air bearings. During this time, achieved a 200% growth in photomask design orders without increasing CAD Tech staff; a 40% cost reduction in photomask pricing (annual savings > $1 million) and a reduction of 50% in vendor turn-time. -
