I work with land development clients, utilities, and municipalities to use GIS data to save time and money.Project Examples: TOWN OF JAMES ISLAND, SC STORMWATER INVENTORY & ASSET MANAGEMENT, JAMES ISLAND, SC Project Manager for the development of the Town of James Island's GIS and stormwater management platform. We developed a full web-GIS platform for the Town with geothinQ. Stakeholders can view all relevant information about the Town including municipal limits, parcels, property ownership, flood risk, topography, & more. The geothinQ team created a stormwater inventory using existing data from Charleston County & the City of Charleston. Using this dataset, the Town now can modify and improve data on their own in an easy-to-use platform. The Town also creates and manages work orders and performs condition inspections on all stormwater assets live in geothinQ. Project Dates: March 2019-PresentPALMETTO UTILITIES, INC. GIS, ELGIN, SC, GIS Manager for processing a backlog of dozens of water and sewer project as-builts for the County’s Water and Sanitation Department. This backlog was leading bottlenecks in work and service order management. Thomas & Hutton met with the Department to understand their existing data schema and develop a process to convert CAD as-builts to GIS data. This data was delivered to the County for seamless integration with the County’s existing utility data inventory, eliminating the backlog. Project Dates: January 2017-PresentKIAWAH ISLAND UTILITY GIS, KIAWAH ISLAND, SC, GIS Manager for designing project methodology, complete water & sewer utility database schema, and custom geothinQ web application. All information was converted to a standard data format.North Carolina’s Southeast Biotechnology Web Application, Developed a GIS web application to examine potential sites for biofuels projects and surrounding area utility features. Over 20 datasets are used to give stakeholders all relevant information for biofuel site selection. This project serves as a recruitment tool for future biotech groups to relocated to the NCSE region.Conservation Suitability Analysis, Jasper County, SC, Determined best possible locations for conservation based on cost-weighted overlay of various environmental and fabricated features.
