I conducted unsaturated flow simulations to examine infiltration, runoff, and groundwater recharge changes after the 2010 Fourmile Canyon Fire near Boulder, CO. The parameter estimates from these simulations provide the foundation for numerical modeling of post-wildfire hydrology and sediment transport using a fully-coupled surface water/groundwater model.

I planned and executed a field observation campaign to determine the hydrologic effects of the 2010 Fourmile Canyon wildfire near Boulder, CO. This included installing soil-water content sensors, tensiometers, rain gages, weather stations, flumes to monitor discharge, and silt fences for sediment movement. I developed a conceptual model of unsaturated and saturated flow at Rainier Mesa and Shoshone Mountain, NV to examine radionuclide transport through fractured rock.
