About Brian F.
Simply put, I love what I do. I get to use the knowledge and skills I have developed from my education, work and volunteering experiences and work with an exceptional team for the top builder in the state of WA, maybe the US. Currently helping re-define the urban landscape in the South Lake Union / Denny Triangle area of Seattle, we are building the new campus headquarters for one of Seattle's largest employer. I coordinate and manage the exterior finishes and landscaping systems. This is literally the front door of the project. It's what the rest of the world will see and experience. And even more amazing, these scopes are not just limited to the outside---I am reviewing things inside and up on the roofs that are amazing. I can easily get my 10,000 steps in a day. I look forward to the days when my little ones are old enough to understand so I can share my excitement and experiences with them. Fine Print - Big Picture: Placemaking & Sustainability in the built environment excites me.Planning and design, engineering and construction, community development and place management----It is about the interconnection of People and Place. We can understand this more through experience and interaction with the details of the overlapping systems. There are real financial costs involved which need to be factored into the ecological and social cost equation. My experience has given me a solid background with a site based systems approach to sustainability. I have studied and worked at a wide range of scales in the built environment. This includes understanding the big picture ecological processes, issues facing social equity and transportation in the urban fabric, the challenges of community development, the detailed analysis of public works construction documents, and the development of real construction costs. This gives me a better understanding the triple or total bottom line of placemaking.
Listed skills include Sustainability, Green Building, Construction, Construction Management, and 43 others.
