I'm director of Dancing Fox, a creative agency founded by activists for activists. We help groups dedicated to the environment, human rights, healthcare and social change tell powerful stories that change behaviour and transform society. We've worked with (among others) Amnesty International, Greenpeace, Oxfam, Four Paws, the Transnational Institute, Upstream, Fairphone, the Plastic Solutions Fund, THNK, Transparency International, Friends of the Earth, Riparte il Futuro, IKEA Foundation, MedReact, OurFish, and provided training to individuals from dozens of other groups working for a more beautiful future. With my Creative Director Tommy Crawford, we advise charities, activists, artists, and social-change-driven entrepreneurs in the art of telling powerful stories. If you want a motivating speech, a storytelling workshop, effective writing, or one-to-one coaching or strategy development, we've spent most of our careers bending narrative forms and new technology to campaigns for a better world. I drove the early adoption of digital communications at Greenpeace International in the 80s and innovation in the use of the web as an activist tool in the 90s. I've been a clicktivist and riskivist, and my activist resume includes delaying a nuclear weapons test detonation by camping out near ground zero in the Nevada desert with four colleagues, hanging a banner on the Statue of Liberty, and flying a hot air balloon over a military installation. Teams Tommy and I lead and strategies we shaped have moved entire industries, governments, and sectors to more sustainable behaviours. We helped the Green Party with a rebrand in front of their most successful European Parliament election. We've created apps, websites, videos, and children's books. I believe in the power of people to change the world because I've witnessed it, again and again. And I believe the builders of the future we all want are already at work, today.
