This involved taking and dealing with helpdesk calls, upgrading and installing of software and hardware, server maintenance (in the Windows NT and 2003 environments) and the daily backup of the servers. The database in use at the company was built by the companies Managing Director using visual basic and administered using access. My administrative duties involving the database were initially to extract data and check it for accuracy, providing reports to the Managing Director. Once I had completed the bulk of this task, I then moved on to helping the MD improve the databases functionality, suggesting new functions to be programmed into the database, and fault testing and resolving any new functions before they were rolled out across the company.
