I worked in an agile team environment to develop new projects, core features, and support existing functionality that directly impacts the company’s bottom line and improves dealer experiences. Here are some projects I've been working on:I developed a Transit Mobile app with React Native that allow carriers to manage and track inventory.I developed the front-end mobile-first responsive UI/UX components from the ground up for a cutting edge real-time auction platform consisting of auctioneer, clerk, bidder, seller, and admin screens using React, MobX, SignalR Web Sockets, Janus Media Server, REST API’s, Styled Components, and CSS Grid that leverage .Net core Microservices and a SQL database. Use Jest and Cypress.io for tests. I developed the frontend UI/UX of revenue-generating Digital Ad Pack that allows dealers to purchase media and condition reports, which enable them to list their auction purchases on their website the same day they are purchased. I implemented a streamlined dealer checkout process from the dealer’s membership portal on the npauctions.com website that integrated with the back-end auction management software.I provide seamless interaction for dealers with NPA applications by providing support for the NPA website, mobile site, and each of the Exchange websites (BMW, Harley-Davidson, Yamaha, Honda, Piaggio, MotoLease, and Insurance Total Loss). I support, as well as, enhance the internal content management system that enables the Marketing team to launch campaigns and website content without the need for IT involvement, such as the ability to stage, review, then deploy content changes to a Production environment. I provide continuous support and implement feature requests for the auction management platform that enables the business to run smoothly.The tech stack for most of the projects I've worked on and mostly proficient with include ASP.NET, React, JavaScript, jQuery, and SQL Server.

I was the project lead and architect for the redesign and upgrade of the financial analysis system used by our Compliance and Swaps department staff to manage and review member financial information and related investigations. My team and I worked cohesively to influence upper management of the direction and which, upon approval, ensured coding, structure, and conventions were well established.I served as a lead developer, architect, and technical advisor for the most recent Online Registration System projects. Coworkers appreciated that I "served as an extraordinary mentor" by training them and "guided the architecture and development on some very modern and high-quality web interfaces and APIs at our organization", which gave them the opportunity to learn new technologies with guidance.Starting a new job is stressful. Software developers are in a new environment and expected to ramp up quickly. They are also expected to adhere to new processes, follow new methodologies, and even learn new technologies or systems. To say the least, any help that can be provided, should be to lessen the stress and ramp up time. To assist, I took the initiative to facilitate software development staff on-boarding orientations, in which I developed and reviewed key points with staff about how we worked as a department and on software. I was the IS Department Sharepoint Portal Content Manager with responsibilities including working with steering committees, testing and managing portal content, auditing content to ensure business policy compliance, creating and managing project team sites, and offering assistance to others in the IS Department.I managed the coordination of several IS projects. We changed 13 public facing web applications to use Forms Authentication, upgraded 26 web applications to function on the latest operating system and web server versions in each of our environments, and tested 146 business applications, as a result of Oracle Encryption updates.

I worked on many projects in various capacities from leading project teams, working independently, coordinating framework upgrade projects, and generally being a technical resource on projects. I'm highly regarded by my peers as a "committed software developer who is always ready to handle unexpected obstacles and takes pride in the systems I build". For example, our legal software was being enhanced for the Legal and Arbitration departments and the project itself had a resource who was not pulling weight completing assigned tasks. I was chosen to assist and help fix this problem to get the project back on track and delivered on time. I quickly adapted to the situation, assessed the necessary work, contributed collaboratively with open communication, and given my extensive knowledge of the data-driven UI template architecture, was able to help successfully deliver the project on-time.Those who I work with know that "when presented with opportunities to use new technologies, I quickly grasped concepts and was able to successfully apply the new skills". There was a need to re-create an online CFTC form and companion screens for our an internal market surveillance system. Given my recent accomplishments applying my skills building client-rich front-end screens for our back-end systems, I was brought onto this project to design and develop them.NFA had many secure public facing web applications not utilizing a single sign-on approach; however, this was the requirement change. Being known to have "organizational skills which make a big difference in the projects I lead" I was brought onto this project as the project manager and technical lead to ensure the system's safety and coordinate all the enhancements for over a dozen web applications, coordinating with several project teams, the timeline, and deployment of all the necessary changes. The sign-on application, the front-door to every secure public facing NFA system was as a big success.

Based on my prior experience leading up to working at NFA, my responsibility included helping the organization build new and converting legacy systems utilizing the .NET Framework. I especially loved the challenge of developing all aspects from database design, creating stored procedures, implementing the business models, and structuring the front-end from the ground up.People I worked with knew me as someone with a “strong understanding of Microsoft web technologies” and have “abilities to think outside the box”. For example, the project team I was a member of was given the task of newly designing a general template architecture that would allow for the quick development of new systems given the nature of sudden industry rule changes. I was able to collaborate with the team to design and implement the highly desired solution, which received accolades. This new architecture helped systems get developed, tested, and deployed much more quickly and efficiently, which added value for our members.

I always enjoyed helping grow businesses on the web and streamline their processes through technology. As founder of New Leaf, a technology consulting company at its core, this new venture naturally opened a new chapter of growth for me. It afforded me to take what I learned previously and extend that to build a business network and customer base. Often, it takes the combination of the right talent to achieve success. There were times, I knew didn’t have all the necessary skills or the capacity to complete projects on my own to achieve success. Knowing when to ask for help is all part of working independently and I realize the benefit other resources can bring forth and leveraged it when necessary. One colleague of mine said that I’m a “professional with integrity who understands the importance of good relationships in the outcome of collaborative efforts”. Additionally, a fellow developer has said that “I’m constantly aware of my customer’s needs” and I “keep the lines of communication open with everyone”.Starting this business eventually allowed me to start up an unlikely line of business, which I was passionate about; New Leaf Ultra Runs, a long-distance group which had over 1,000 Facebook members and a popular following of a series of low key unofficial races, which later triggered the development of Runners 4 Wellness, an event management company that I co-founded.

I dedicated myself to learning as much as I could about my new heartfelt passion of software development and how businesses used technology. I surrounded myself with others who were smarter and brighter than me. I was continuously hands-on working with new programming languages. I learned the most outside my comfort zone by immersing myself into different business situations. It was fantastic!I’m regarded by my colleagues as someone “with excellent work ethic and a can-do attitude”.As a consultant, I practiced taking secondary and lead roles on sales calls and building customer relationships. This was an opportunity to grow with the business and acquire new line of work for myself and others. I was honing by soft skills. I took initiative documenting meeting notes from our in-house mock interview sessions and developed an online training system for all staff.It’s was said by a Bond practice manager, that I was “always focused on technical excellence and timely delivery to my clients”.Upper management truly cared for their employees and focused on growing leaders. As I learned more and was promoted to Technical Specialist, mentoring programs were offered, which I participated and was grateful to eventually mentor and manage as a Project Leader a small team of others in their career growth. I thrived on the challenge of guaranteeing and balancing technical delivery at my own clients, as well as, that of my team’s clients.
