Prior to its purchase in 2005, Huber Oros & Company was a regional, employee-benefits consulting firm.At Huber Oros, I transitioned from working for a major insurance carrier to the employee benefits brokerage side of healthcare. I assisted companies with planning, finance, compliance, communication and administration of benefits plans.It was a great first experience on the brokerage side, and it’s where I began integrating my knowledge from the carrier perspective with strategies for building group benefit plans.

Mid-Atlantic Medical Services LLC (MAMSI) was a major provider of health care service offerings to groups and individuals in Maryland, Washington D.C., Virginia, Delaware, West Virginia and North Carolina. MAMSI merged with UnitedHealth Group in February 2004.I started as Sales Representative in Rockville and as a leading salesperson, was promoted to Sales Supervisor in Hagerstown, MD where I led a team five top sales representatives.A promotion to Sales Manager took me to Charlotte, North Carolina, where I:* Created a team of 20 from scratch.* Managed the office profit / loss.* Worked with in-house regulatory affairs and underwriting departments to file benefit plans and rates to fit the marketplace.

I proudly enlisted and served three years as a Radio Telephone Operator (RTO) in the Light Infantry for the 9th Regiment.My tour of duty took me to Panama twice, once as a part of Operation Nimrod Dancer, which protected U.S. interests in Panama. I returned in support of Operation Just Cause, the U.S. invasion of Panama that deposed dictator Manuel Noriega.My service was extended for Operation Desert Storm, the combat phase of the 1990-1991 Gulf War.
