• Managed a 3-year project to recapitulate the physiological bone cell environment in vitro in order to provide an improved platform for basic scientific research, pharmaceutical testing, and potential integration into the clinical treatment of bone fractures.• Designed and refined CAD models for 3D cell culture molds, machined molds via mill and CNC machine.• Sustained cell populations in a novel 3D collagen-hydroxyapatite composite matrix.• Worked independently to develop processes for harvesting samples from 3D cultures, and for subjecting the samples to mechanical testing, imaging via confocal laser scanning microscopy, µCT scanning, in order to characterize the cellular response to the in vitro environment and validate the model for later animal studies.• Adapted and optimized existing protocols for cell culture techniques, authored protocols for methods I developed, and trained lab members in these methods, providing support as necessary after my departure.• Coordinated research efforts with a multidisciplinary team of collaborators to resolve challenges, optimize experimental methodologies, and expand the analysis of project outcomes. • Presented the results of my research at multiple national conferences.
