I love being an engineer because it daily affords me the opportunity to improve the world around me. There are few experiences as rewarding as being able to see my hard work make life better, whether in the form of new products or better bottom lines.Engineering also gives me the chance to indulge my natural curiosity. I enjoy trying to understand the underlying principles of the world we live in. To me, if why something happens can be understood, its useful application is not far behind.This means that as an engineer I get to use my skills in:-Computational fluid dynamics-Finite element analysis-Optimization-Experimental design and validation-Python, and-Project documentationTo do things like:-Create new products from inception-Design for manufacture and assembly-Diagnose and correct problems with current designs and processes-Automate daily tasks, and-Generate and maintain knowledge bases for future useResulting in:-Products with decade-long lifespans (i.e., Caldwell Fire Control Front Rest and Lead Sled Solo)-Experimentally validated CFD models of additive manufacturing processes-500% reduction in gasket removal time after tests of HVAC equipment-PDM/PLM repositories that contain project documents and the collective knowledge of a given team, and-Multiple rapidly fabricated and assembled prototypesIn general, I am extremely curious and love new challenges and experiences.
