Authored several key components of firmware used to deliver 3D geolocation without GPS or external infrastructure. Designed firmware module to perform ranging measurements between multiple instances of hardware via ultra-wideband radio communications by calculating signal time-of-flight. Owned and developed positioning module, calculating 3D positions in space via fusion of multiple sensors including ranging distances between nodes as well as inertial and environment pressure measurements. Created developer application to visualize inter-node communication across multiple radios, allowing development team to diagnose overlapping communications and optimize wireless message timings for optimal throughput.

Designed HIPAA-compliant software applications used to treat a wide range of neurological disorders. End-to-end development of several key software components, including requirements gathering, architecting, and implementation of software to capture EEGs, manage electronic medical records, schedule resources, and system administration.

Best Fare Search (8/12 - present)Lead the Best Fare Search (BFS) test team. BFS is at the heart of Expedia's flight business and is their proprietary flight search engine, servicing millions of searches daily. Team responsibility is ensuring functionality, stability, performance, competitiveness, and accuracy of the BFS product. Focusing on development of highly robust and scalable test tools and infrastructure to manage large-scale experiments and measure, analyze, and visualize results. Hiring, retaining, and developing high-quality software engineers.Revenue Optimization Engineering (12/11 - 8/12)Lead the Revenue Optimization Engineering (ROE) test team. ROE is critical to Expedia's business strategy and is a set of shared services built around the concept of using business intelligence to sort, place, and dynamically price results for both flight and lodging shopping. Lead a team of up to 7 SETs and coordinated their efforts across 5 shared services and several administration web tools. Focused team on automation infrastructure improvements to simultaneously improve testing quality while reducing time to test. Hiring, retaining, and developing high-quality software engineers.

Functional verification and performance and competitive analysis of BFS (Best Fare Search) - Expedia's shopping engine for flights. Created tools and infrastructure to manage large-scale experiments and measure, analyze, and visualize search results.

Fully planned and impelemented test procedures for all aspects of the company website as well as i-Q Services, a broad set of security and configuration tools for i-mate mobile phones. Unfortunately I had to leave when the company became insolvent.

.NET Framework Runtime (10/04 - 10/08)Drove functionality, stress, performance, and penetration testing across the Common Language Runtime (CLR) for the .NET Framework and Silveright products. Areas owned included Code Access Security, IL (bytecode) verification, crypgraphy, and Garbage Collector.Visio (11/99 - 10/04)Designed tools for use by both design and testing teams, and drove code quality improvements by driving Visio's use of best practices, such as code coverage analysis and static code analysis.

JET (9/07 - 4/08)Designed and developed Jukebox for JET project, a media player (supporting MP3 and WAV file formats, including ID3 tags), including file decoding, music resampling, playback, and a mini-game. Extreme Arcade (4/07 - 9/07)Contracted with HanaHo Games to co-develop Extreme Arcade, a stand-up multi-game arcade cabinet, emulating 50 classic games. Product was sold by Sears during 2007 holiday season. Developed emulations for majority of games' external hardware.

Microprocessor Division 6 (9/97 - 11/99)Designed complete validation plans and coordinated validation effort for the first-level cache controller usit on Intel's Pentium 4 microprocessor.OEM Platforum Solutions Division (4/96 - 9/97)Wrote complete evaluation plan and supervised the evaluation of Intel's Pentium MA430VX and Pentium II NX440LX motherboards.

Owned functionality testing for a large number of features in Visio 2.0, 3.0, and 4.0 products. This included ownership of Visio's initial OLE2 implementation (which was used by Microsoft for demo'ing the new-at-the-time technology). Leading bugfinder for each major release.
