VolunteerLocal is an online software for anyone who organizes, manages, schedules and communicates with volunteers. Our software works with needs that range from a dozen to several thousand volunteers. We serve nonprofit organizations, endurance events, festivals/fairs, civic organizations and many other industries.

In 2003, the late Mo Dana approached me with a simple request to help the Des Moines Arts Festival organize their 350+ volunteers. The initial platform was built around their needs and served them well enough that additional time was invested to make the platform available to other local nonprofits. In 2008, the platform was used by an Olympic qualifying event, the Hy-Vee Triathlon, and became the "aha moment" as their race exposed the platform to USA Triathlon and races all across the United States. The company was officially formed in 2009 and we've been building ever since. We proudly serve both nonprofits (ongoing volunteer programs) and episodic events (festivals, races, etc).

BrokerTech Ventures is the first program specifically for investors and innovators building the next generation of technology solutions for insurance agencies and brokerages.I played a part in the launch of the organization. My experience in the insurance innovation/technology and startup/accelerator space helped the organization move quickly from concept to viable player in the space.

Doextra specializes in custom CRM solutions featuring Salesforce.com.During my time with Doextra I earned Admin and Sales Cloud certifications (Salesforce.com) and was responsible for closing enterprise-level sales opportunities.

Tikly puts tickets back in the hands of the artists by giving them a free utility to create events and sell their own tickets. Tikly is marketed to artists and small venues, but is also used by conferences, festivals, 5K races, class reunions and more.

Catchwind is a mobile messaging company that uses carrier-grade (short code-based) SMS for messaging and data transfer. The platform can build permission-based lists of loyal customers, manage machine-to-machine messaging, leverage an API for white label solutions and more.I was one of the co-founders of the company in 2005 and sold it in 2012.

Diligent IS was a web development business that covered every facet of creating, maintaining, and marketing web sites. For nearly a decade we helped small & medium sized businesses, financial institutions, city administrations and non-profit organizations understand how to utilize the Internet to effectively use information in their business operations.In 2010, Diligent IS was acquired by the fantastic team at Visionary Services, Inc.
