Worked on flexible thermoelectrics for energy generation (TEGs) as well as Peltier cooling with the focus of projects being for industrial application.Projects:-Harvesting waste heat from steam pipes to power industrial wireless sensors-Flexible, water-less cooling pad for mattresses-Rapid fabrication of an EKG generating shirt

- Developed test methods to quantify previously unseen failure modes that directly impact a $5 million market- Enabled fundamental analysis of fabric composite structure through in-house and newly designed testing apparatus

-As Chair, managed ten projects totaling $120,000, a 300% fund increase from 2014-2015, while organizing a board of nine student, faculty, and staff members and leading them through the grant review process

As a volunteer, worked to increase student knowledge in the fields of social and economic sustainability. Also have worked to increase communication between sustainable organizations at NC State. Through the Stewards, I have traveled to regional Eco-Reps conferences, developed PSA videos, and coordinated outreach to students through digital and face-to-face interaction.

Worked in Venture Development at the Office of Technology Transfer on several projects including -benchmarking-development of inventor and start up guides-mapping Triangle entrepreneur ecosystem

-Learned basic operation on several machines used for yarn production including: Rieter Draw Frame, Schlafhorst 2115B Spinning Frame, Muratec Winding Frame, Saco-Lowell Maremount Rovematic Roving Frame, and a Carolina Specialty Twisting Frame.-Tested yarn weight and twist-Used Microsoft Excel to construct a detailed floor plan of entire building for use as reference in machine layout planning.

-Took cutting edge hydrogen generation technology out of the lab and into the start-up ecosystem-Incorporated North Carolina LLC, developed market strategy, built network of IP and general advisors, negotiated equity with NCSU Office of Technology Transfer, and presented at CED Tech Venture Conference & Triangle Entrepreneurship Week 2013-Led company to win the $20,000 Cherokee-McDonough Challenge and to semifinalist finishes in the Cleantech Open ($200,000) and MIT CHIEF ($20,000) competitions

Participated in a summer internship at the Fiber Research Center in Belmont, NC. Trained in the use of the USTER Classimat 5 yarn classification machine. Also helped with organization of results of comparison testing between new Classimat 5 system compared to older Classimat 3 system.
