Highly Decorated United States Air Force Master Sergeant; Recipient of Meritorious Service Medal, Aerial Achievement Medal, Antarctic Service Medal, and others.• Formed and managed six-member, remote IT Services team to support 115 locations nationwide.• Designed, configured, and installed network edge suite for allied nation’s military.• Served as lead engineer on VMware migration project at over 80 locations worldwide.• Built home lab for learning and testing which includes: a Sophos UTM commercial,firewall/security appliance to provide security and control traffic at the edge; two 1GbE lines to a Cisco C2948E-F switch; sub-interfaces for VLANs where the UTM is the gateway; OSPF to route VLANs that use the Cisco switch as their gateway. Attached to the core Cisco switch are four distribution/access switches from Cisco and Mikrotik and Ubiquiti WiFi access points. Additionally, there is a Synology RS3614xs NAS, providing iSCSI and NFS storage to various servers, as well as file shares. A VMware server cluster running “critical” applications including Active Directory, DHCP, NTP, proxy, UniFi controller, Remote Desktop Windows 10 machines, mail relay, and backup servers, as well as Plex and Minecraft servers. The VM’s are a mix of Windows and Linux systems. In addition to the VMware cluster, I have a single server running Microsoft Hyper-V with a few VMs to stay current on that OS. Servers include 12th generation Dells, with R320, R420, R620, and R720s currently in the rack; Lenovo RS140, SuperMicro, an HP Microserver running XPenology to provide a backup target for the main NAS, server backups via Veeam, and switch config backups. Client systems include Windows, MacOS, Linux Mint, Chromebooks, iPads and iPhones, game consoles and IoT devices.
