In this role, I act as the Senior Engineer, Project Delivery Manager and Electromobility Specialist for the ESB public electric vehicle charging business. The role spans technical, commercial and strategic aspects, building upon those competencies developed within the EV business over the past 5 years. Supporting the implementation of ESB ecars strategy and specifically the Business Development efforts in order to effectively deliver on the commercialisation of the business Reviewing potential tender opportunities from a technical delivery perspective, along with the application of other business relevant criteria, including risk, scale, contract duration, and others. Preparation and writing of PQQs, tender and bid documents to the highest technical standards to best position ESB ecars in emerging and competitive markets Preparation and calculation of appropriate financial models to underpin both internal businesscase requirements and any ESB ecars proposal to be issued externally, as business opportunities are pursed. Support in the development of contract delivery model(s) Ability to support, communicate and work with both internal and external stakeholders on all aspects of ESB ecars Business Development activities, opportunity development, rationale and so on Presenting and promoting electromobility and ESB’s capabilities internally and externally,including contributing to all aspects of conversation relating to the commercialisation of the Irish EV charging system – for example product/tariff design. Develop and maintain a knowledge base and a leadership role on relevant and emergent synergistic technologies, complementing this with a specific commercial focus. Act in a stewardship role to provide assurance/audit all aspects of safety for the ESB ecars business, specifically by overseeing the implementation of the OHSAS 18001 safety management system designed in a previous role.Key Competencies Include:- Relationship and Stakeholder Management- Strong Commercial Awareness- Customer Awareness & Market Knowledge- Presentation Skills- Ability to Work Under Own Initiative- Teamwork- Good Communication Skills- Good IT Skills

This role featured three distinct areas of responsibility, and resulted in a number of key achievements, outlined below:Health & Safety:• Took sole responsibility for and ownership of Health & Safety management• Developed & implemented a complete Safety Management System, in line with the OHSAS 18001 industry standard• Undertook training specific to the discharge of duties under the Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015• Arranged and reported upon an external expert review of the safety of EV charging infrastructure assets and potential risks to the public.Infrastructure & Technology• Investigated, diagnosed and resolved deeply-rooted manufacturer defects in charging equipment, resulting in a significant improvement in reliability and reduction in out-of-service "down time", and the resulting report was disseminated to maintenance contractors to improve service provision• Played a significant role in the 2nd largest migration of charge points to a new back office system. This involved type-testing of the proposed "switch-over" solution for 3 different charge point models, and the pre-onboarding of critical infrastructure to de-risk the change process.• Presented at PlanGrid EV, Dutch DSO ElaadNL’s annual talks series in Arnhem and also chaired the “Regulatory Challenges” panel of the IEA Task 28 conference.Business Development:• I was the lead author of a significant amount of content submitted in all tender responses, including topics related to:o Technical aspects charging infrastructureo Environmental managemento Health & Safety managemento Maintenance regimes and methodologieso Installation methodologies• Engaged with key stakeholders in cities, local authorities, automotive OEMs, government agencies and potential business partners• Constructed detailed techno-economic models of EV charging service provision to underpin understanding of the relevant business case.

Worked with LabView create and run test software for new wireless communications chip, to be used mainly in the development of smart networks.
