I provided clinical pharmacy services to the University of Vermont Medical Center neonatal critical care medical and nursing teams by prospectively monitoring medication therapies for patient-specific therapeutic endpoints and optimizing pharmacokinetic-driven individualized dosing regimens utilizing the Epic® electronic health record platform. I assisted in medication management decisions by actively participating in interdisciplinary patient-care rounds relying upon a background of critical literature evaluation and pediatric-specific therapeutic knowledge. I served as a resource for clinical drug information to the medical and nursing teams, fielding clinical questions and developing responses based upon review and critical interpretation of relevant scientific literature and clinical trial results.

I was responsible for the development and delivery of educational materials focusing primarily on pediatric/neonatal medicine, drug information and literature evaluation, and professional pharmacy skillsets. Clinically-related materials were developed after careful identification, evaluation, and synthesis of relevant and current scientific literature and clinical trial evidence. The scope of these materials spanned from presentation-oriented slide-sets to comprehensive online asynchronous learning modules. Learner outcomes were evaluated in a variety of manners from self-assessment and examinations of learning objectives to case-based problem-solving exercises to reviewing and providing feedback on written projects.

During this administrative appointment with ACPHS, I managed a local department of 10 full-time faculty and one administrative assistant. This included advising the department chair on faculty workload assignments, faculty recruitment, mentoring of faculty, and staff development and evaluation. This appointment also provided me the opportunity to participate in regular meetings with parallel departments and higher school administration on matters such as program development and expansion, accreditation, and student success.
