Improved performance while adding features to an iOS library in Objective-C and C for Google’s ad systems. Google and third-party apps run it billions of times per day on nearly every iOS device in the world. Added support for Swift and created Swift test apps and created automated performance, code size and integration tests. Designed and implemented modules for high-volume production servers written in Java and C++, including unit tests, integration tests, and realtime monitors. Designed a user interface and created a low level networking proof-of-concept in Java for an Android file sharing app. Supervised an intern, and served as a formal and informal mentor to other engineers. Managed a project with eight engineers for a tool that logs user interactions and iOS app performance. It included a client library developed offshore, interaction with a complex and mature enterprise-class server and a beta program with major brand financial and travel apps. The project was completed on time with no known bugs. Mentored junior engineers learning iOS and interns who produced an Android prototype of the tool and patent filings.
