Leads team of engineering resources across North, Latin, and South America regions who provide technical engineering support to John Crane’s customers in the oil & gas, chemical, petrochemical, power, water, and other general industries. Collaborates and partners with the commercial aftermarket teams to support account activities related to providing technical support for bad actor equipment, providing technical assessments, and delivering sound engineering solutions.

Responsible for engineering expertise within the North American Region (US and Canada) for John Crane, interfacing between customers and the region's technical function on critical application issues. Establishes engineering objectives and requirements, in turn developing standards and procedures for diverse engineering activities to help meet these goals. Provides engineering oversight to the design drafting function establishing best practices for continuity across multiple facilities.Serves as an interface between Global Engineering and the region’s technical function.Confers with customers and the region’s technical function to provide technical information to solve customer problems.Serves as a company interface with end user corporate engineering representation on special projects and initiatives. Assist in the review of troublesome applications and addresses the problem with new updated recommendations.Networks information with sales management and other regional technical functions of successful and/or difficult problem solving experiences.Provide guidance and direction to assist with the long-term strategy to improve reliability at participating sites with managed reliability programs.Utilizes proprietary software and additional engineering programs and calculations to evaluate existing seal designs and / or formulate new solutions for applications beyond existing product envelopes.Participates in action plan meetings to address manufacturing and sales problems.Analyzes engineering reports and initiate studies to improve design and engineering functions within the region.Coordinates with the region’s technical function on the training and development activities for both onsite reliability engineers and technicians, as well as design drafting personnel.Direct engineering supervision for four Regional Engineers and district design engineering centers within the Gulf Coast US.

Champion pump and mechanical seal reliability improvements at local oil refineries (Valero Refinery in Paulsboro, NJ and ConocoPhillips/Monroe Energy Refinery in Trainer, Pa.)Serve as Rotating Equipment Engineer for HF Alkylation Unit, North / South Tank Farm, Gasoline Blending, and Water Treatment Complexes (ConocoPhillips Refinery)Make recommendations to improve seal performance and increase MTBR.Maintains sealed pump KPI's including MTBR, average pump repairs per month, and repeat failures for quarterly reporting. Fielded seal application questions and provided insight to customers and John Crane distributors concerning potential seal problems. Responsible for performing Root Cause Failure Analyses’ on mechanical seals sent to branch for repair. Identified seal failure modes and provided recommendations to improve seal performance. Assisted in on-site customer training covering topics including mechanical seal basics, seal installation, support systems, and performance analysis. Traveled to customer sites assisting salesmen and on-site engineers with potential seal issues.

Utilized AutoCAD software to design CATV layouts and map communities for client companies including Comcast Cable, Motorola, Charter Communications, and Adelphia Cable.Communicated with field surveyors to resolve discrepancies found in layout mark ups.Checked junior drafter’s drawings and marked errors for correction.
