I am a registered architect with 30 years of professional experience, concentrated primarily on the technical execution and management of architecture and interiors with deep appreciation for and experience in concept and design. I am responsible for quality in design, documentation, process, performance, construction oversight and client engagement. Today, I work with a team dedicated to the advancement and improvement of the quality of our processes, protocols and the celebration of craft in our work and its result in the built environment.I support and promote development of sustainable practices for projects and operations, integrating high performance into every project and encouraging innovative planning to our clients, consultants and staff. I especially reinforce the role we have in improving the health and wellbeing of the occupants of the buildings and spaces we create for our clients, focusing resources to educate our teams in making decisions that include occupants in addition to traditional performance criteria.Current projects include the roll-out of a multi-module training for Project Architects, focused on promoting ownership and accountability, overhaul of the firm's risk assessment process to reinforce mitigation strategies and visually represent assessment values for firm-wide evaluation, overhaul of the firm's quality process with a special focus on the quality review process, and development of a firm-wide graphic practice metrics dashboard. Because my role is currently a firm-wide quality leadership position, my work is largely outside of daily project practice but in the recent past, I have completed a university complex in the Middle East covering a variety of programs and building types for seventeen buildings, 700,000 sf of tech workspace in Bellevue, WA, the fit-out of a hotel in Hudson Yards in collaboration with Rockwell Group, a 475,000 sf corporate headquarters for an international retail group in Brookfield Place, a 65,000 sf campus hub including food service and alternative workspace for a historic financial client and a 15,000 sf developer home office in a modernist landmark. Work still under construction includes a performing arts center in southwest China incorporating an Opera House, Concert Hall and Multi-Function Theater in a 1.9m sm master plan. My work has been published in Architect, Architectural Record, Metropolis, Elle Decor, Contract, Interior Design and the 2014 GlassCon Global Conference Proceedings.
