I am a Research Staff member in the Fuel Science and Engine Technologies Research Group at Oak Ridge National Laboratory's National Transportation Research Center, conducting experimental engine research including engine setup and installation, instrumentation and engine control systems setup, as well as data collection and analysis. Research interests include internal combustion engine related topics as well as spray dynamics and imaging. I completed my PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Missouri S&T under Dr. Jim Drallmeier in 2008.Current and recent research topics:• Marine diesel engine research ◦ Lubricant impacts on fuel economy, wear/deposit formation, and emissions performance ◦ Alternative low-carbon fuels • Highly dilute (lean and/or high EGR) SI engine combustion: ◦ Cyclic variability ◦ Nonlinear dynamics analysis ◦ Modeling and analysis for next-cycle control• Machine-Learning-based engine controls• Low-speed pre-ignition• Thermodynamic analysis of IC enginesSpecialties: Nonlinear dynamics, cyclic variability, highly dilute engine combustion, thermodynamic analysis, data acquisition/instrumentation setup and experimental design. Experienced in developing data acquisition and analysis systems in LabVIEW and MATLAB, including an in-house LabVIEW-based combustion analysis & data acquisition code, Oak Ridge Combustion Analysis System (ORCAS).
