Manage a small team of electrical and software engineers in the design and development of new electronic instrumentation at SOR. Primary focus is on broadening the company's electronic pressure product portfolio by leveraging current and emerging technologies and incorporating industry-relevant communication protocols such as HART and Modbus.Responsible for quoting, system architecture, and overall development of SENSOR Data Monitoring Systems. Solutions range from small systems for monitoring 1 or 2 data points all the way up to full turnkey well monitoring systems. We can provide multiple technologies to address your pressure, level, temperature, and flow monitoring needs. Systems accommodate any combination of wired/wireless sensors, and can include data concentration and cellular or other technologies for getting data back to a home server. HMI or alternative data visualization solutions available as well.

Responsible for the leadership of all new electronic product development projects since joining SOR in 2006. Duties included developing project schedules, managing and coordinating project team meetings, and synthesizing focused design requirements. Developed electronic instrumentation to meet the requirements of multiple approval agencies including FM, CSA, and ATEX. Coordinated all outside compliance testing including EMC and vibration. Participated in multiple sales/marketing presentations and on-site customer demonstrations. Led the proof-of-concept R&D of smart instrumentation for the electronic level and electronic pressure markets. Efforts included the functional demonstration of both Zigbee and Bluetooth wireless technologies as well as the development and demonstration of smart phone and PC applications for real-time display of process data.

Completed Six Sigma green belt training through GE's internal six sigma program. Completed project management training through the Project Management Institute. Developed a PCB assembly test fixture using a Xilinx CPLD. Prototyped a discrete 3W dc-dc converter.

Project engineer for multiple audio panel projects including Garmin's GMA 1347 audio panel (audio panel for Garmin’s G1000 integrated cockpit) as well as derivative products. Led a small team of engineers and technicians from the concept phase through development and into mass production. Responsible for all project scheduling and FAA TSO testing (to DO-160D). Hardware design including the R&D of a discrete class D audio amplifier, switched-mode power supplies, a 75MHz RF marker beacon receiver, and some Xilinx FPGA design. Digital design including an ARM 7 processor, and some PCB design.

Responsible for handling engineering evaluations, obsolete components, engineering change orders, etc. Assisted the aviation engineering team in the development of Garmin's GTX320A ATCRBS transponder. Revised alignment and test procedures, wrote minimum performance specification, and assisted in FAA TSO testing.

Summer intern at KCP&L during the summer of 1998. I performed field verification of capacitor site control types and settings, and then developed a centralized system to track capacitor site control strategies and set points.

Co-op student during the summer and fall of 1997 through K-State's cooperative education program. I participated in a refuel outage as a member of the reactor coolant pump/motor team. I also created a database to track calibration data for radiation monitors throughout the plant.
